morning i am charley croweson. >> i am megan pringle. the weather has been the story because we have seeing wild weather and it's been cold. >> some of that is coming up for the weekend. mike masco is standing by to let us know how bad it could be getting. >> we will see a couple inches of snow across the area. today not a problem a few clouds in the afternoon. glen burnie at 35. around the freezing mark in reisterstown and manchester 28 degrees. and here we go winter weather advisories over the northern tier close to the p.a. line into tomorrow. we are expecting advising that this storm over the tennessee valley will run into cold air and produce a snow event. look at future trend look good during the course of the morning hours. we expect the snow to break out a little after 8 in the morning or 6 in the morning rather and that will take you into your morning hours and early afternoon hours as we go into tomorrow. we are going to show you a snowfall accumulation map coming up in a little bit. we will show you traffic right now lauren cook is the person to do that. hey lauren. >> rep

. you had to have a pass to get on the ship. i've asked captain pringle, to get off the ship, i wonder if you can secure the hatch until they fill out their participant form. if you could do that, i would appreciate that. fleet week, we are a neutral convener of the process to improve the relation ships between this global force for good and the local civilian officials. and one of our goals is next time you put up your slide with all those logos on it, general, you are going to have the san francisco fleet week logo on it, too. i look at what we accomplished in 2010, we had a meeting to understand dsca, in 2011 we had the table top exercise, we debriefed that, we had a great speaker then we had an education seminar. this time, this year we had a functional exercise in august which was terrific, you saw the panel, a medical exercise as part of fleet week and you saw the enthusiasm of the participants, then we had the back brief. now we've had a strategic operational and tactical discussions about going forward and the things that we can accomplish. so what are you going to do in 201

on this thursday, december 6th. "good morning maryland" i'm charlie crowson. >> and i'm megan pringle, thank you for joining us this morning. a chilly start if you are headed out or taking the kids to the bus stop. you're definitely going to want to bundle up. >> lynette is here telling us about the change that came and another change that could possibly come. >> exactly charlie. very cold this morning and then we have another warm up on the way. so we are in a roller coaster effect but this morning you're stepping out the door. make sure you do have that heavy warm coat because we can see in reisterstown coming in at 28 degrees right now. this temperature is below average we should be at 31 for our low temperatures. and we are below freezing in millersville now. 29 degrees. look at the dew point. 17. that is some very dry air out there this morning. and this is going to continue right into the afternoon. the chilly air will as well. owings mill temperature coming in at 29. the good news is is that the winds have died down. it was a very blustery day on tap yesterday. not so much today. lots of

'm charlie crowson. >> and i'm megan pringle. thank you for joining us. it is not like it has been the rest of the week. >> no. >> so if you haven't stepped outside yet or taken the dog out for a walk, be prepared. you're going to need a coat. >> exactly a shock to the system. if you're not listening in this morning. megan because we have some very cold temperatures out there. and we are different because we are dry today. and it's going to stay that way as we look at maryland's most powerful radar. as of now, the dry weather is here. and it is here to stay for a little while. we will have some change in the forecast. but the bigger story? the temperatures. it's cold. look at the 26 degrees in glenelg right now. 31 catonsville and 32 arnold. we are going to have those winds out of the northwest light in nature about 5 to 10 miles an hour throughout the day. and it won't be as blustery as it was yesterday but this is what you can expect by lunchtime. 42 degrees. lots of sunshine in the forecast. but the sunshine really not going to warm us up as we go into the afternoon. 3:00, 44. cold degre

thanks for being with us and good morning i am charley crowson. >> i am megan pringle. we will start with weather. foggy yesterday and that's the case all day and it's a little foggy this morning too but not as bad hopefully as yesterday. what's going on. >> you two you are right yesterday we had widespread deeps fog and we had a dense fog advisory that's not the case this morning. 's. although the -- although the fog is bag in some areas it's dense patchy fog across the area. noid the widespread like -- it's not widespread like yesterday but you need to take it easy put a lot of distance between you and the vehicle in front of you. and have the low beams on n terms of wet weather, we are not seeing it. yesterday morning, we got the rain even this morning we had the rain and things are diminishing. we only will scan the skies for today and once again, temperatures are going to be above average. we are looking at upper 40s in elkton to bel air. let's check the traffic with lauren cook. >> reporter: good morning. as you mentioned, we are dealing with areas of dense fog so be careful. t

's christmas eve morning. i am megan pringle. charley has the day off but lynette charles is here and a lot of people are heading out to the malls or somewhere downtown in the community and they want to know how warm do they have to dress? >> and i am one of those people i hate to say. we all need to bundle up this morning. the temperatures are cold. and i say bundle up because once you get to the mall you will want to take off the coat when you roll up your sleeves to do the last-minute shopping. 30 in glenelg millersville at 27 and pylesville at 29. and as we check out maryland's most powerful radar, we are dry for right now. i have all five sweeps on and we are scanning the skies. throughout the day we will have light rain push in and we could see snow mainly off toward the north and west. so this is how to plan your day accordingly. we have the planner here and temperatures by 8:00 coming in at 31. and still dry as we go into the lunchtime it's quite brisk out there. 39 degrees the high temperature for today is 40 degrees. and coming in below average because we should be at 43 degrees f

had a merry one. thanks for joining us on this wednesday morning, i'm megan pringle. >> i'm charley crowson. we had snow on christmas eve here, the south and midwest got hammered with severe weather yesterday. >> what's in store? here's meteorologist mike massco. mike, it's nice to have you here in the morning. >> thank you. it's nice to be here. you know, guys, i think we'll see some snow, a little burst of snow coming in during the course of the morning. 32 at bwi right now. the atmosphere certainly moistening up a bit, northeasterly wind at just about 12. and notice temperatures across town, while we're at 35 in annapolis, down to the freezing mark in easton, it's really chilly over our northwestern suburbs. 30 in eldersburg, 29 in manchester. notice on maryland's most powerful radar, down to the south of d.c., it's starting to snow and this is what's going to be pushing toward the north during the course of the morning hours. so about an hour 50 minutes away from the baltimore metro area, and this will come in as a burst of some snow through the course of this morning. not expec

pringle. thank you for joining us. maybe you have the day off yesterday and got excited to see something falling from the sky. but it turned out to be not so pretty. >> it was nasty. mike it was nasty. out there. you were here until almost 5:00 last night. >> it was like it wouldn't end and it wouldn't turn over to rain. i mean just an interesting storm and we had a lot of sleet to the north. but the good news is today a drier day and a windy day though. temperatures this morning 41 in the stay and 37 at the airport and annapolis at 38. it's pretty cool most of the readings near the freezing mark. well to the north and to the west. notice the winds pretty busy now out of the northerly direction between 10 to 15. if that reason we have a high wind advisory through the course the day. so while it's a cloudy sky we're at 36 to 37 around the lunchtime here. we're near flirt with 40 for most of the day today but again the windchill factors feeling like it's into the 20s. there's the first storm departing into the canadian maritimes, here's another one the rockies storm and this is a storm tha

at barnes & noble. >>> good thursday morning, i'm megan pringle. >> and i'm charlie crowson. the mother accused of killing her 2-year-old son is out of the hospital and now in police custody. nicole fitzgerald faces a number of charges including first and second degree murder as well as child abuse. last sunday police found her son with a stab wound to the neck. fitzgerald was taken to the hospital and treated for cuts to her own neck. her hearing is scheduled for next month. >>> a man the dead this morning after a fire broke out in his ohm. it was out on sweet air road in jacksonville actually the baldwin area earlier this morning. no fire hydrants near the and the water was shuttled in. the fire is still being investigated and we'll keep you posted. >>> things there are changing outside lynette. >> it is cold out there this morning charlie but look at all the sunshine we're receiving the morning. and in annapolis a beautiful sunrise. you can see over the severn river and we are going to continue with some cold temperatures. 33 degrees right now. those winds out of the north at about 1

pringle charley crowson is off but it's time for the abc2 news to go. let's start with lynette charles and it's chilly out there. >> it is. and it's cold out there this morning. make sure to dress in layers as you head out and about. you will need the layers all day long if you plan on being outside for extended period of time. and as we go throughout the day we will be watching what's on maryland's most powerful radar and it's dry right now but change is moving in to the picture as far north as virginia. starting to see wet weather move in. 28 degrees right now in mount airy and that's the scenario through the morning hours. temperatures will remain cold 30 degrees in churchville and chestertown coming in at 27. so seasonably cold this morning by the time we get to the afternoon we could see the temperatures at 40 this will be below average many we should be at 43 degrees now for this time of the year. and the big story is, well, are we going to get snow in here? there's possibility. a wintery mix going into the afternoon time frame and around 3:00 we could see the snow mixing in with

you. this is the second time we've had the uss macon islands and i want to thank captain pringle and his entire crew. what a great ship and what a great crew. they turned this swear hanger deck around all right night and turned it into a conference room and it looks absolutely beautiful. thank you, captain, and your entire crew. i'm going to make this short because we're already running a little bit behind schedule, but san francisco fleet week for the third year is organized with i object credible participation from city, civilian agencies from all around the region and all of us our fabulous united states military, the coast guard has been fabulous in providing assets to protect everybody out on the bay. it is one heck of a logistics program to get this whole program started and here we are the culmination of nearly a year of planning. we've had exercises, we've had lots of meetings down in san francisco up at the marines memorial, this is a fabulous program, we had a great medical exchange yesterday. senior leaders seminar third year in a row has gotten a lot of attention

in dc's the national's had the best -- who would have thunk it. and being on this ship, skipper pringle, congratulations on a great ship and a superb crew. as you get higher up in the navy you get less and less opportunity to be on a ship as i head back to the bureaucracy, my only request to you is for god's sake take me with you. i'll work in the engine room, i'll chip paint, i'll do anything to be hayes-white gray and underway. i'm responsible to them primarily for our wartime mission. my job is the readiness mission, as is yours. i have to be ready for the next big thing whatever it is. it may be somebody that's blown up, it may be a unit taking fire, it may be a mass casualty, it may be mass relief or to those of our neighbors and allies, it may be somebody getting ready to deliver a baby. imagine we are sitting in this venue oopbd all of a sudden your pager goes off, your associate comes up and taps you on the shoulder and says, you need to see this. there has been a bomb that's gone off in our nation's capital or los angeles, a nuclear device. there has been an earthquake. th
